Why Stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort?
One of Pop Century’s biggest advantages is its combination of value and location. While it falls into Disney’s Value Resort category, guests have access to the Disney Skyliner for convenient transportation to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The resort is divided into themed sections celebrating the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Throughout the resort, you’ll find oversized icons representing the toys, technology, music and trends that defined each decade.
It’s colorful, casual and unmistakably Disney.
Rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Rooms at Pop Century are designed to make efficient use of space and are a good fit for families who plan to spend much of their vacation enjoying the theme parks.
Room categories generally include:
- Standard Rooms
- Preferred Rooms
- Pool View Rooms
- Preferred Pool View Rooms
- The biggest difference between these categories is typically location and view, rather than the size of the room.
Room accommodations
- 2880 Rooms
- Typical room size is 260 square fee
- Most rooms accommodate up to four guests, plus a child under age 3 in a crib.
- All rooms have one queen bed and one queen-size table bed that folds up into the wall when you are not using it, leaving a table and chairs in it’s place.
- There are a limited number of king bedded rooms.
Is a Preferred Room Worth It?
For some families, yes.
Pop Century is a large resort, and a Preferred Room can put you closer to Classic Hall, dining and transportation.
If you’re traveling with young children, grandparents or anyone who wants to minimize additional walking at the beginning and end of a long park day, paying a little more for a convenient location may be worthwhile.
For guests who don’t mind walking and would rather put that money toward other parts of their vacation, a Standard Room may be perfectly fine.
Disney Transportation
This is one of the biggest reasons we recommend Pop Century.
The Disney Skyliner connects Pop Century with Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
From Pop Century, you’ll ride the Skyliner to the Caribbean Beach station, where you’ll transfer for service to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios.
For many guests, taking the Skyliner is not only convenient, it’s part of the fun!
Bus transportation is available for other Walt Disney World destinations.
Pools at Pop Century
Pop Century has three pools, giving families several places to cool off after a day in the parks. One thing families should know: Pop Century’s pools do not have waterslides. If a feature pool with a waterslide is an important part of your vacation, a Moderate or Deluxe Disney Resort may be a better fit.
Hippy Dippy Pool
Located in the 1960s section, the Hippy Dippy Pool is the resort’s main feature pool. Its fun flower-shaped water jets fit perfectly with the colorful retro theme.
A kiddie pool area is also located nearby.
Bowling Pool
Head back to the 1950s at the Bowling Pool, designed to resemble a giant bowling pin.
Computer Pool
The 1990s Computer Pool celebrates the early days of personal computers with a fun computer-inspired design.
Dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Pop Century keeps dining casual and convenient. Pop Century does not have a table-service restaurant, but the Skyliner makes it relatively easy to explore dining options at other nearby Disney Resorts.
Everything POP Shopping & Dining
The resort’s primary dining location is Everything POP Shopping & Dining, a quick-service food court offering choices throughout the day.
You’ll find a variety of familiar options, making it convenient to grab breakfast before heading to the parks or dinner when you return to the resort.
Everything POP also includes shopping, so you can pick up Disney merchandise and vacation essentials without leaving the resort.
Petals Pool Bar
Located near the Hippy Dippy Pool, Petals Pool Bar is a convenient spot for drinks while enjoying some resort time.
